As you probably already know, Polish President and many high level government, military, clergy and social organizations officials were killed this morning in a plane crash in Smolensk, Russia, on their way to commemorate the death of Polish officers in WW2. According to newest information, the plane crashed on fourth loop above the airport, on second landing attempt in thick fog and on small military airport.
As was to be expected, there are many holes in the reports and it's impossible to tell what happened and why. It's likely that we'll never know. The thing is, it worries me to think about the effect of today's catastrophe on politics. The Internet is surprisingly peaceful, but older people are completely shocked. Polish-Russian relations were never very good, and now this.
This is a horrible tragedy for Poland.
